Janet is truly gifted, both as an artist and as a teacher. She is engaging, funny, patient, generous, and easy to learn from. As a total beginner, I was blown away by the wealth of her knowledge, and how with her coaching and encouragement, I was able to create original art I was proud of!
Janet has the rare gift of being able to help without taking over, encouraging her students to look within themselves and to each other for creative inspiration and to let the art flow, welcoming surprise and whimsy into the work. She is invested in seeing her students learn and grow and take new risks.

I wanted to get back into art after years of giving it up, and I was so in my head on how to start. I love abstract art so much, and her art makes my soul happy. Her class gave me a new sense of purpose, and she guided me on how to begin. Janet also shared amazing techniques and supplies.
I’ve been creating since I finished her class, and it’s more than worth it. If you are wanting to start painting, but don’t know how? Her class is a must!

Wow! Where do I start? Janet’s 2 days painting workshop was so much fun I didn’t want it to end. We had 2 days of total creativity and learning and it was just what I needed! I am an illustrator and surface designer, but i didn’t know much about acrylic paints and collage.
I was wanting to learn something new and have some paintings in our home created by me. Being an artist can sometimes be isolating. I had so much fun creating with others. I had felt a little blocked creatively this summer and Janet got me going again. Her energy is contagious!
